champions league predictions

The Champions League is really beginning to hot up and in December we see the final round of matches played from the group stages. There are many places in the next round still to be decided, so expect to see some great games with teams battling hard to ensure they qualify for the last 16.

Champions League Odds

It is no surprise to see two of the form teams in Europe at the front of the betting to win the Champions League. Both Paris St Germain and Manchester City have been in excellent form, both in Europe and domestically, they have shown genuine quality and deserve to be up there at the top of the market.

If you want to look further afield than those two, but you want to stick with English clubs then the Chelsea odds and Liverpool odds may appear to you. Chelsea are a best price 25/1 to lift the trophy, while Liverpool can be backed at 35/1. Neither have shown the same class as the top two in the betting, but both know what it takes to win the Champions League and we have seen glimpses of quality from them.

As far as Champions League tips go, many people will be sticking to their guns and going with one of the Spanish giants Barcelona or Real Madrid. Both were extremely popular before the tournament began and they are now third and fourth favourites as a result of the form shown by Manchester City and Paris St Germain. Both of the Spanish clubs know how to win trophies, and Real Madrid especially have a great recent record in the tournament. These two can be expected to go very far and if you decide to back them they will give you a good run for your money.

Football Score Predictions for the English Clubs

There are five English clubs in the group stages this season, one more than normal because Manchester United qualified as the Europa League winners from last season. In December they face their final group game and here is our prediction as to how we think they will get on.

Tuesday 5th December

Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow

This should be a good game with Manchester United needing a point to claim top spot in the group, and CSKA Moscow needing to get something, maybe a win, to qualify for the next round. With both teams coming into the game with something to play for, expect to see a hard fought game at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have the edge when it comes to quality and with an away win against Moscow already in the bag, it is hard to see the Russians turning things around. Manchester United can comfortably win this game, and finish as group winners, we fancy them to win 3-0.

Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have already qualified for the next round but need something from this game to give them top spot in the group. Atletico Madrid can still qualify, but they need to win here and rely on Roma not winning against FK Qarabag.

When it comes out the Chelsea betting will show them to be favourites for this game and they can wrap up Group C with a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid.

Wednesday 6th December

Liverpool vs Spartak Moscow

After throwing away a lead against Sevilla, Liverpool need a win here to claim both a place in the next round, and top spot in the group. A draw would be enough to progress, but they will want to win the group.

The latest Liverpool betting will have them as favourites for the game, and they can run out comfortable 3-1 winners of the game.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Manchester City

Manchester City have already qualified for the next round and they are also guaranteed top spot thanks to five wins from their first five games. That shouldn’t necessarily mean a weakened team for them, they will want to finish their campaign with a 100% record.

They can get that record, and win 1-0 away in Donetsk in their final game.

Tottenham v APOEL Nicosia

Tottenham have already qualified for the next stage and they can claim top spot in the group with a point in this game, regardless of what Real Madrid do. That is huge for them, and something they can do against a poor Nicosia team.

Tottenham can cruise to victory here, and win the game 4-0 in front of their home fans.
